For those of us interested in social media, it's about finding a community of peers, making connections, learning from and supporting each other.
Social Media Breakfast | Ottawa wants to help you do this by bringing you interesting, entertaining and timely speakers along with lots of real networking time over our (mostly) monthly breakfasts.
What's the Ottawa Format?
We'll keep the event to within 90 minutes, focusing on people meeting each other with the guest speaker telling a story to spark conversation and discussion.

Who's Speaking?
The speaker for Breakfast 3 is Ryan Anderson, Principal of Fat Canary Communications.
Ryan is a public relations and web strategist with a passion for interactive and emerging media. Over the course of his career, he has co-founded what has become one of Ottawa's largest professional theatre companies. He has worked as a digital strategist for an independent PR firm, and led communications for one of Canada's largest digital agencies. Ryan has developed and implemented social media and digital PR strategies for clients including Microsoft, Johnson & Johnson, Mazda Canada, 20th Century Fox, HBO and The National Arts Centre.
Avidly blogging at The New PR, Ryan has written and researched extensively on the subject of social media as it relates to the practice of public relations, and the role of the PR professional in the changing media landscape.
What's Ryan going to talk about?
Reputation 2.0
You only get one reputation, and it's yours to ruin. In a social media-enabled world where the details of your life can be branded onto the Web for all time, how do companies and individuals use the Social Web to build their reputation and insultate themselves against attacks that would have previously remained private matters?
Ryan will address online reputation, helping the audience understand the basics of social media monitoring and response practices as well as providing insight on avoiding and dealing with crisis situations online. Topics to be covered include:
